About Me

My photo
Hugh Greenway
This blog is where I think aloud in public. This is useful as ordering my thoughts for a reader (real or imagined) requires more discipline and structure. Ideas expressed here, although often derivative, are my own and in no way reflect the opinions of the organisation that employs me or the organisations for which I volunteer. I've been in the learning game for a while now. I started my own education business in Russia in the 1990's, then worked for Lord Laidlaw at IIR for seven years before taking over Reed Learning PLC in 2004. In 2011, with my close friend Dr Caroline Whalley, I helped to create the Elliot Foundation which it has been my joy to lead since then. From an idea on the back of an envelope, this education charity has grown to a thriving family of 28 primary schools with 11,000 children and 2,000 staff serving some of the most disadvantaged communities in the country. Over the years I have volunteered with a number of charities including The Prince's Trust and Business in The Community. I currently serve as a Trustee of The Elliot Foundation and Wandsworth and Fulham Sea Cadets and I am also a member of the British Council's Education Advisory Board.
